WELCOME TO

It’s Always Something Farm

EST. 2018

My home. My heart. My happiness.

From clinic to countryside: more than just a motto.

It’s the move that changed everything for me and my family. In 2018, we happily moved to a six-acre property in the country—cheekily named, It’s Always Something Farm.

We took the leap to:

➤ Tap into a slower, more restorative pace of life.

➤ Reconnect with nature and God’s amazing gifts.

➤ Grow (some) of the food we eat for greater sustainability and self-sufficiency.

➤ Teach our children the value of homesteading and a low-toxin lifestyle.

That time I came home with three alpacas …

It started innocently enough. I had a colleague during my residency training who owned over 30 alpacas. Out of curiosity, I went to their annual shearing event and, being the animal lover I am, brought three of them home. Woops!

Fast forward to today, and we have five alpacas, two livestock guard dogs, chickens and two cats. I can’t promise I’ll stop here.

If you have animals too, you know that each one has its own unique personality. Ours keep us guessing and smiling all the time!

Daily stress doesn’t have to be your story.

If you’ve read my About page, you know burnout and I go way back. My obstetrics career had me living in stress-mode almost every day.

What I've found on the farm—and what I believe you could find too—is a chance to hit pause. To step away from the screen (yes, seriously!), to slow down, breathe in the quiet, and soak up what’s around you.

My happy moments? They’re the simple ones:

➤ Walking through the pastures.

➤ Showing my kids how to pick veggies.

➤ Watching our animals roam and interact.

➤ Sitting on our back porch during a storm.

We live in a world that tells us hustle is everything

But life on the farm reminds us that there’s beauty in being still.

Interested in living the farm life, too?

I’d be lying if I said it was always easy. Even with low-maintenance animals like alpacas, there’s always something to tend to. (See what I did there?)

But the benefits of all this effort? So worth it.

There has never been a better time to live a slower, healthier, richer life.
